FINE
ART INSTALLATION AT DETROIT INDUSTRIAL PROJECTS
Oakland
University, Alternatives For Girls (AFG) and Detroit Industrial
Projects collaborate to offer the community a unique summer
art exhibit. Oakland University art student and curator,
Camie Lee Frasher, works with girls in the AFG prevention
program to create a self-portrait installation that reflects
their discoveries and experiences about life in Detroit
and its connection to the gallery space.
Alternatives
For Girls helps homeless and high-risk girls and young
women avoid violence, teen pregnancy and exploitation,
and helps them to explore and access the support, resources
and opportunities necessary to be safe, to grow strong
and to make positive choices in their lives. To learn
more, visit www.alternativesforgirls.org.
THROUGH: August 11
Detroit
Industrial Project's mission is to inspire artists to create,
