Born and raised in Detroit, she obtained
her undergraduate degree from Wayne State
University and her post graduate degree
from Walsh College. She is self-taught
with technique enhancement through the
Birmingham Bloomfield Art Center. She
works for Detroit Public Schools as a
Workers’ Compensation Consultant
and also works for Midwest Employers’
Casualty Company as a Senior Workers’
Compensation Analyst and Auditor for their
Great Lakes Region. She serves on the
Board of Directors of Certified Workers’
Compensation Professionals; the Wayne
State University Press; and is one of
the founders and Board members of the
Vicki A. Barker Foundation.
