Art
on Main Gallery, FREE admission Craig Paul Nowak
returns
from Chicago, IL to his original stomping grounds, Brighton,
MI to exhibit art with up-and-coming Leonardo DaVinci-like
prodigy and Brighton native Buddy Dougherty at the Brighton
Art Guild's newly acquired gallery space, Art on Main,
316 W. Main Street. The exhibition opens with a party/reception
on Unveiling 40+ new works of art, with hors d'ovours
and drinks, the exhibition entitled, "Heads or Tales"
will remain open to the public until May 25.
An
informal artist discussion will take place on Sunday May
11th at 12:30pm. Everyone is welcome to attend. Both artists
will be on hand to answer questions.
In
2006 Craig Paul Nowak (25 yrs old) graduated from The
College for Creative Studies, Detroit, where after he
received exclusive representation with MOKA Gallery, Chicago,
IL. Throughout 2007 MOKA featured Nowak's art in a solo
exhibition at The Dock's Art Fair, Lyon, France, at Art
Santa Fe, NM, and at ArtNOW in Miami, FL, in addition
to a solo exhibition at MOKA Gallery during Chicago Art
Month. Nowak's work has been reviewed in the Metrotimes,
The Mirror, The 2008 CCS Alumni Catalog, Treff Magazine,
and in Arte Al Limite, an international Spanish Magazine.
He has also been accepted by the Mano y Mente Artist in
Residence program which will take place in New Mexico
for three months beginning in September and by the NY
Arts Magazine Artist Exchange Program held in Bejing,
China (dates TBA).
Buddy
Dougherty (24 yrs old) is the inventor of a product called
VWOMP, which he claims is the miracle art material of
the future, which will also be used to make several of
the projects in the exhibition. His art involves the use
of hyper-advanced divine geometry, and he is directly
involved with numerous public projects at The Artists
Village in Redford, MI. He works as a graphic designer
for A-1 Engraving and Signs in Hamburg, MI, and he recently
received a $20,000 grant to complete a public art project
in Campus Marshus, Detroit.
