Family Friendly Half Price Saturday Matinees at Detroit Reperatory Theatre
The Detroit Repertory Theatre is in a partnership with Target to provide Family Friendly Ticket Programs for Repertory Productions. Target’s generosity allows the Rep to offer half price tickets to all Saturday matinees during the ten week run of August Wilson’s Radio Golf. The production runs until March 22, 2009.
The long-standing partnership between Target and the Detroit Repertory Theatre has been an essential part of the DRT’s ability to make professional theatre services accessible to the under-served, the seldom-served, and the never-served, to say nothing about serving households and communities throughout Southeastern Michigan and beyond. Artistic Director Bruce Millan indicated the value of the mutual relationship when he said, “Target’s support of the DRT Family Ticket Program is testimony to our shared desire to not only serve, but to enrich life.”
This grant is part of ongoing efforts by Target to strengthen families and communities throughout the country. Since opening its doors, Target has given 5 percent of its income to organizations that support education, the arts, social services and volunteerism. Today that translates to more than $3 million every week.
“At Target, our local grants are making a difference in the communities we serve,” said Laysha Ward, Vice President, Community Relations, Target. “We’re proud to partner with Detroit Repertory Theatre as part of our ongoing commitment to give back to the communities where our guests and team members live and work.”
