Always pushing the boundaries by providing some incredible regualar night and, of course, a variety of brilliant one-off concerts and shows, the Crofoot will be introducing a brand new dance party Friday night.
The Crofoot calls it, “an upbeat dance night that draws thematic inspiration from a schizophrenic blend of 1920s futurism, post World War II pseudo-sophistication, and the techno-utopianism of the Nintendo generation.”
Not sure exactly what that all means, but Metromix thinks the venue’s state-of-the-art sound system is a perfect setting for Futur debauchery.
And there’s not doubt that with an opening night lineup featuring Hearts of Darknesses (a project by electronic music producer Frank Musarra), hip-hop duo Themselves, and DJ Downtime (bringing the boogie beats), this first Futur event sounds uniquely promising.
Guests can expect a “vast and creative playlist featuring upbeat danceable indie music from around the globe,” specialty drinks with over-sized flowers and sci-fi-inspired drinks.
Next Friday, April 3, Frankie Banks, Yeah Big Kid Static and Downtown are slated to touch down.
10 p.m. Fridays, Crofoot, 1 S. Saginaw, Pontiac, 248-858-9333. 18+. $5.
