For over 40 years German saxophonist Peter Brotzmann has been a leading force in the European Avant Garde. Records like Machine Gun and Nipples
established his reputation as one of the loudest, hardest players in the world. He frequently collaborated with Han Bennink, Peter Kowald, Derek Bailey, Evan Parker and Fred Van Hove in the late 60s and 70s. More recently he has worked with octets of American players like Ken Vandermark and he spent much of the 90s  performing in the group Last Exit, which also featured Sonny Sharrock, Ronald Shannon Jackson and Bill Laswell. I think that last time he was in Detroit proper was at Urban Park Gallery (in Trapper Alley!) circa 1992. This is a show we’ve been waiting to have for some time!
