In the fourth Annual Jazzin on Jefferson Bike Tour, come see why Detroit Bikes! is one of the best reasons to see the city on two wheels. In a 4 hour excursion, our neighborhood tour will pass many landmarks including the Former Hudson Automotive Site, the Conner Creek Greenway, Chandler Park, East English Village, Sander’s Ice Cream (40 min stop) in the Village of Grosse Pointe, Windmill Point and the Lake Shore district of Grosse Pointe, the Venetian canals of Detroit, Victoria Park, the Detroit River, and end at the beautiful Jefferson East Business District.

Tour will start @ 10am PROMPTLY at the Detroit Synergy Tent (in the non-profit tent) within the Jazzin on Jefferson Festival (look for the bikes!). Festival to operate on East Jefferson Avenue between Chalmers and Alter. Our tours are beginners level cycling speeds and we obey all traffic laws.

Feel free to take in the sites as we ride through neighborhoods, parks, greenways, and business districts that make up the Far East Side. Take in fabulous views of the Detroit River, and the beautiful neighborhoods that shape this area. The end of our tour will lead us back to the Jazzin on Jefferson Festival for the opportunity to enjoy excellent food, music, and fun. Hope to see you there. Show your East Side Pride!

Volunteer Roles available for Detroit Bikes!™ to Work Days include:

* Any participant with the confidence, skill, and proper tools to repair typical issues associated with urban road cycling (i.e. patching and repairing flat tires and tubes, adjusting loose chains, or even providing the multi-tool to lock screws) can be a Bike Mechanic the day of our ride. Be sure to bring any items you may use.
* Any participant that is aware of the dangers of road cycling (i.e. the “door prize,” stopping at red lights, riding single file vs. two abreast, or even hand signals for turns) is welcome to be a Pack Leader, assuring participant safety and providing support or insight.
* If you’d like to help out with any of the activities, please send an email to detroitbikes@detroitsynergy.org, and let us know what special skill you would like to showcase the day of the tour.
