A Monotype print: “Tulips”, by Judi Richards of WestBloomfield.
Visit the Lawrence Street Gallery during the month of October to see the work of approximately 40 area print makers participating in a juried exhibition devoted to printmaking.
“Many persons are not aware of the variety of printmaking processes and the possibilities
that can be explored by artists using this medium”, say show organizers Laura Host and
David Obryan, both distinguished print makers themselves. Visitors will have a chance to
learn about the various types of printmaking such as lithographs, etchings, monoprints,
engravings, woodcuts, etc. and view the most current work of popular local print makers.
The opening reception is on, Oct. 2, Friday 6:00 – 9:00 p.m. This event is free and open
the public.
The juror for this event is Lynne Avadenka, well-known local print maker. Ms. Avadenka
earned her Master of Fine Arts degree from Wayne State University in 1981 and has
exhibited widely throughout the United States.
Gallery Hours are Wed, Thurs & Sat, noon – 5. Fri, noon – 9
