Calling All Michigan Artists:
Holiday Gift Gallery
Paint Creek Center for the Arts is looking for Michigan artists to submit work for our Holiday Gift Gallery. Submit original works suitable for gift giving – decorative and functional glass, ceramic, small framed works, wearables, jewelry, toys, wood, Holiday items. From formal to funky and everything in between, if it’s a small, salable, handmade object created by a Michigan artist, we’re looking for it. Keep the price point in the range of $100 and less, to encourage sales.

The exhibit will be installed to overflowing in PCCA’s Main and First Floor galleries. Holiday Gift Gallery will run from November 20, 2009 through January 2, 2010. We’ll have an opening reception on Friday, November 20th, and an early morning shoppers’ extravaganza with special discounts for members on Saturday, November 21st. All sales will be cash and carry.

In addition to the sale of Holiday objects, artists are invited to donate an original, hand made holiday ornament for a silent auction. Proceeds from the Holiday Ornament Auction will support PCCA’s exhibition program. The auction will be part of the opening reception on Friday, November 20th.
Here’s the run down:

Works may be in any medium. They may be objects specific to any seasonal holiday, or items suitable for gift giving – ceramic cups, bowls, tiles etc.; toys, dolls, stuffed animals; small paintings, framed drawings, collages or prints, small sculptures; ornaments; candlesticks; artist made books, cards or calendars; wind chimes; wearable items or accessories – hats, mittens, socks, scarves, purses, belts, jewelry; small boxes and decorative objects.

Submit a CD with 5 – 10 jpegs (4” x 6” at 300dpi) of your work along with a brief bio and/or a one-page resume, to:

Artists may also e-mail mfortuna@pccart.org with a link to a web site showing at least 10 examples of current works suitable for this exhibit.

Send submissions for consideration by October 31, 2009.

Artists should be current residents of Michigan, or maintain strong ties to Michigan.

All artists are invited to donate a hand made ornament for the silent auction.
