Detroit Artists Market begins the 2009-10 exhibition season with “LANDSCAPE: A Modern Sequel”. This show features work by Yoriko Cronin, Andrew Krieger, Nicole Macdonald, Catherine Peet, George Rahme, and Corine Vermeulen.

The focus in this exhibition is to bring together a group of artists who interpret the landscape genre in a unique and individual manner. The starting inspiration might be the landscape, but each one translates and presents “landscape” in a new perspective. These artists react to their environment and bring new interpretations to this time-honored genre. There is something going on that
is not readily apparent – statements and observations are being made. Their narratives are thought-provoking and not so easily interpreted. They are telling a story and want the viewer’s attention and response. The works of these artists engage the viewer and pull them in for a continuing dialog.
