This super group features some of the greats of creative music carving a distinct ensemble sound that is challenging, yet engaging. Cooper Moore is one of the most interesting musicians on the scene today, veering from free improvisation and ecstatic drumming to frenetic protest tunes that feature his urban blues vocal styling. In addition to his percussion contraption, Cooper Moore performs on various homemade instruments that give him a broad palette of sounds to work with. Assif Tsahar is an Israeli born tenor saxophonist who has performed with a who’s who list of free jazz and improvised music artists, including Cecil Taylor, William Parker, Butch Morris, Ken Vandermark, Rob Brown, John Tchicai, Fred Anderson, Gerald Cleaver and many others. Chad Taylor is one of the rising stars of creative drumming, first gaining reknown with The Chicago Underground Duo, Trio and Quartet. He has continued to work with creative music groups that have cross-over appeal, like Iron and Wine, Mark Ribot and Sam Prekop, but has established himself as a first rate improviser with people like Henry Grimes, Fred Anderson, Nicole Mitchell, Craig Taborn, Steve Swell etc. Digital Primitives rates as one of the most interesting groups that these musicians are involved with.
