Steve Blackwood, singer and emcee, is one of the most talented and uplifting bandleaders of today. He has performed for events across the country and is as comfortable with a small trio as he is with a 10 piece orchestra.
He has even performed solo for his home team, The Los Angeles Lakers, but it is the rapport with his audiences that he loves most.
He offers up a Rat Pack style that has terrific appeal to audiences of all ages including one 80 yr. old woman at the legendary Bakers Keyboard in Detroit who came up to do the bump with Steve.
Suffice it to say, the joint was jumping!
Steve is originally from Detroit, started his singing career in New York City as a lead singer for the Business of Blues, opening for artists like Buddy Guy, and Junior Wells. His big band sound is a mix of Gershwin , Porter and McHugh. He harkens to the days of great singers like Sinatra marking his own signature stamp on the world of music.
An accomplished actor, many will know Steve as the Baddie Bart on NBC’s “Days Of Our Lives” a character he has played for 9 years. He also guest starred on numerous television shows, and had a lead role in the feature film” Ed Gein”.
Musically he was seen singing “Honeysuckle Rose” on NBC, he performed his original “Care To Love” on the soap Talk with Lisa Rinna, and has made singing appearances on many local TV Shows.
