The Future (2) Casper Gallery
Detroit’s gallery scene is percolating with myriad concepts and talents in just as many spaces. An appropriate venue for showcasing some of our community’s developing talent is The Future (2) Casper Gallery. An enterprising group of CCS students have commandeered the space to introduce themselves, show off their work and their ability to have a good party.
Learning as Experience. Learning as Looking. Learning as Connections. Learning as Made.
Featuring the work of: Danni Wu, Michaela Mosher, Shani Anne, Will Gibbons, Kieran Martin, Dan DiRito

Michaela Mosher (19): printmaking – “This thing we call learning is only the connections made between neurons in our brain. The strengthening or weakening of these connections is all that governs what we learn or remember. Our connections in our lives mirror this strengthening and weakening, the relationships and the people we bond with governing how we live.”
Shani Anne (20): photography – “I am a student of photography who isn’t going to pretend she has an artist statement ready to go. In the process of finding my style, my strongest subject matter, and a good time
because who doesn’t like looking at photographs of a good time?”
Will Gibbons (21): “I like to create art that causes people to rethink what they’ve grow accustomed to, and consider the unconsidered. I’m a product design student, so my most recent work has been primarily design, but when I get the chance to illustrate I like to create pieces that are beautiful and grotesque at the same time. The goal: to get people to see beauty in what first may be written off as ugly.”

Dan DiRito: photography – “I create because I think it’s important for people to see the beauty of the world around them. I express this idea in whatever subject i find in front of my lens.”
Presented in a gallery along with other artists and progressive rock music.
$6 – free coffee and snacks.
THE FUTURE (2) CASPER GALLERY is located at 210 W. 11 Mile Royal Oak, MI on the corner of Center and 11 mile, across from the post office.
