Jazz Cafe, Music Hall, Detroit
“Happenings” and the Jazz Cafe, Music Hall proudly present “Beats, Verses, and Jingles All The Way!”
Ber-Henda Williams and Sean Galvin, two of Detroit’s own diverse and captivating poets, give a juxtaposed performance of poetry from their unique points of view. Sit back and enjoy thought-provoking poetry, jazz music, and and unbeatable Detroit atmosphere at the Jazz Cafe, Music Hall!
Ber-Henda Williams has performed at the Detroit Festival of the Arts and hosted many metro area cultural events. Fluent in Spanish, she writes poems in the language that has added a richness and passion to her work. Williams lives her life in color and is heavily influenced by the infancy of soul music.
Sean Galvin writes poetry about the human experience, which he tends to paint with a dry, sarcastic brush. He touches on the glorious, the tragic, the annoying and the humorous. It’s raw poetry from a complex mind. His hope is that you’ll leave this event having felt something outside of your typical grocery list of emotions.
