Cave announces an exhibition by Petrova Giberson titled “I Never Thought You’d Come in Winter”. This new work is a product of adjacent seasons and a still formed desire to know distance, time, and our ghost like presence therein. Sometimes, somehow, things can be two at once or all in never. Giberson’s work materializes the space between thoughts, and lifts the infra-thin threads of us.

Petrova works in fibers, glass, video, and photography but all of these and more as they serve the substance of experience. Her work takes on a singular presence and could be considered an installation or even a performance. After receiving her MFA from the Yale University School of Art in 2008 she relocated to Detroit with her husband and infant son where she resides as of now. Petrova’s work has been shown at the Tate Modern in London, Anton Kern Gallery in New York and Skestos Gabriele Gallery in Chicago. Please join us in welcoming her to Detroit at the opening reception with the artist from 7-11 pm.
