An extraordinary number of artists have asked for a bit more time to turn in their entries for the Silver Medal exhibition, so the deadline has been extended to Saturday, March 13th, 5 pm.

The purpose of the exhibition is to recognize the diversity and achievement of artists whose work show creativity of concept, excellence of design and expertise of media; to display these works to regional audiences and to be an educational opportunity for students. The Silver Medal Exhibition is an un-themed, all-media exhibition, open to all artists.

JUROR
Sue Carman-Vian has had a thirty-year career as a painter, performance artist and film and video maker. She received an MFA from Wayne State University in 1984. She received the Michigan Council for the Arts Grant in 1986 for the Public Billboard Project, and was an award winner in the Ann Arbor Film Festival in 1991. Sue has written, directed, produced and performed in nine productions from 1984-2008. She has written, directed, produced and performed in eleven films/videos from 1986-2009. Sue has exhibited in numerous one and two person exhibitions and many group shows from 1986 to the present. She teaches performance art at Wayne State University.

MESSAGE FROM VINCE VERNA, SC PHOTOGRAPHY GROUP
The next photo group meeting is March 18 at 7 pm in Studio 2 at the Scarab Club. The meeting coincides with the monthly SC cocktail party. The assignment is “let’s vent”. The photo group will be going to the Henry Ford Museum on March 13th, meeting in the main lobby of the museum at 10:30 am. Also, I will be in studio every Thursday night from 7-10 pm. Stop by with any camera, image processing or general photography questions.
