“Passing,” the play, is inspired by the true story of Minerva Roulhac who was adopted by a former slave and raised as black. Minerva raised eight children (all college-educated) and lived to be nearly 100 years old; her story confronts issues of race, identity, ethnicity, complexion, class and interracial relationships. “Passing” had a sold-out run Off-Broadway in Manhattan’s theater district. This production stars Detroit’s own Mayowa Reynolds.

$10 Members / $15 non-members, $10 each if purchased in groups of 10 or more. Tickets can be purchased online at https://www.maah-detroit.org/passing/.

Packages are available with Emergency (2/24), the Reagon Concert (2/25) or Sarah Jones (3/18). For more information, please call (313) 494-5800.
