Despite the chill spring events are blossoming. One event that is a true harbinger of the season is the 29th Annual Art Birmingham, the award-winning fine art fair. This year it will kick it up a few notches by taking the celebration to the streets and turning the city into an al fresco art gallery for two days.

Art Birmingham takes place Saturday, May 15, 10AM- 6PM and Sunday, May 16, 10AM-6PM. The event showcases the work of 190 professional artists. Admission is free and open to the public. There is ample nearby parking available.

Art Birmingham, produced by the Birmingham Bloomfield Art Center in association with The Guild of Artists & Artisans will shine in its new location, the charming and elegant Old Woodward Avenue starting south of 15 Mile.

Featured work includes jewelry, ceramics, painting, glass, photography fiber, wood and much more. The Fair also includes act activities hosted by the BBAC.

But it is the personal contact between artist and fairgoer that is the best part of the event. Art fairs have a special appeal because there is no intermediary between the patron and the artist. It’s a genuine connection between artist and those who appreciate fine art. It is a unique and important relationship. This friendly, juried art fair is truly an event for the entire community. It’s Birmingham’s own special event celebrating life, beauty and imagination.

About the Guild

The Guild of Artists & Artisans is a non-profit, membership organization of professional artists. The Guild’s mission is to promote community awareness, understanding and appreciation of the visual arts and to maintain a support network for artists, which provides educational, mentoring and marketing opportunities.
