Monday roundup, Detroit Arts in the news
- Can you really steal graffiti? I don’t know – but 555 Gallery can really display its Banksy now
- Speaking of Banksy, a “blue-chip” gallery opened in Detroit, Long-Sharp / Curis Modern + Contemporary Fine Art gallery – and they have a Picasso next to a Warhol next to a Banksy
- Speaking of quality art, The Actual Size Biennial is up and running at Whitdel Arts, over 100 quality artists show small pieces, 5.5” x 4.25”
- The Detroit Design Festival is on to Phase 2 – in Phase 1 it picked the more than 70 Design Happenings that will take places across Detroit from September 21 through 28, and now it’s Phast 2 … they need to promote the Happenings, so look here
- And to balance out all of this good news with some bad news, MOCAD’s Director Luis Croquer plans to leave the museum in October
