Rembrandt and the Face of Jesus

Opening this Sunday! Rembrandt and the Face of Jesus brings together for the first time many of Dutch master Rembrandt van Rijn’s finest paintings, prints and drawings that portray Jesus and events described in the Bible. The exhibition of 64 works includes approximately 52 small, intimate paintings, prints and drawings by Rembrandt and his students revealing how Rembrandt broke from traditional 17th-century representations of Jesus. read more Member’s Preview

Gift of a Lifetime: The James Pearson Duffy Collection showcases his varied collection of drawings, paintings, prints, sculptures, and photographs. “I Want to Live!,” inspired by the 1958 movie of the same name, is a zany film-noir musical biography of Barbara Graham, the third woman to die in the gas chamber at San Quentin. This show combines Nellie McKay’s virtually unlimited gifts as a singer, songwriter, actress, pianist, ukulele player, mimic, satirist, and comedian into a show that is much deeper than its surface might suggest.
