Their Beginning: Husband and wife team, Mitch Cope and Gina Reichert started the concept in 2007.
“We’ve always liked the streetlight, the activity, and the whole mom and pop shop history of Hamtramck we were also taking from the 99 cent store model and trying to bring design into that area, and we just combined design… 99…” – Mitch
“I’m just really more interested in human interaction, and I found that a lot of times as an architect I wasn’t interacting with people as often as i thought should be. So, it’s kind of trying to figure out what alternative models of practice we can come up with.” – Gina

Hours and Location: 3309 Caniff, Hamtramck, MI 48212
Hours: Wednesday through Sunday, Noon – 7 pm

Mission Statement: We believe that contemporary architecture and design is not reserved for a select audience. By locating our design practice within a retail storefront environment, we hope to create an open dialogue with the general public.
“We just really wanted to be that outlet for people with ideas” – Gina
“We show locally designed artwork, furniture, clothing, and it’s also sort of our design studio, we do design work from architecture design to interior design.” – Mitch

They like it the most when people just come in and talk about their ideas with them.

Something Different: “We also do 99 dollar consultation fees, where we go to people’s houses and do design consultations for 99 dollars. Say someone can’t figure out a painting scheme for their house or they want to redesign a room, we’ll just go in and they’ll tell us what the problem is and we’ll just draw out ideas.” – Mitch
