Their Beginning: The Ann Arbor Art Center is a non-profit organization dedicated to engaging the community in the education, exhibition, and exploration of the visual arts. Founded in 1909, the Ann Arbor Art Center is Michigan’s third oldest arts organization.

Hours and Location: 117 W. Liberty St, Ann Arbor

The Art Center is located in the historic Walker Building at 117 West Liberty in downtown Ann Arbor, Michigan. The former carriage factory has been renovated to include exhibition, retail sales and instructional space.

The galleries and studios are open daily for your enjoyment. Public hours: 10-6 PM, Monday – Saturday, 12 – 5:30 PM on Sundays. Students and studios, 9 AM-10 PM.

Mission Statement: Founded in 1909, the Ann Arbor Art Center’s mission is to be a dynamic organization, engaging the community in the education, exhibition and exploration of the visual arts. It is the only organization in Ann Arbor that offers hands-on art education, art appreciation programs, and exhibitions all in one facility. It is committed to breaking through economic, social and physical barriers by offering outreach programs to provide easy access to the arts for everyone, tuition grants and programs for all levels of art skill and interests in locations throughout the region.
